Hyderabad: A youth has been booked under the POCSO Act by Banjara Hills police for allegedly harassing a minor girl, posting her photos and videos on social media, and demanding Rs 1 lakh to remove the content.
According to the complaint, the unidentified suspect, whose details are yet to be known, had also allegedly attempted to assault the girl while under the influence of alcohol.
He later called the victim’s uncle, demanding money and threatening the family.
Based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s family, Banjara Hills police registered a case under the POCSO Act and took up investigation. Efforts are on to trace the suspect and nab him.
