India, the world’s third-largest crude oil importer, has accelerated the nationwide rollout of E20 petrol to reduce dependence on imported crude.
The new petrol contains 20% ethanol and is now the only choice in many gas stations across the country.
The government says the move is aimed at strengthening energy security amid renewed uncertainty in global oil markets. Our correspondent in New Delhi Aadil Mir reports.
