Hyderabad: B C Thanush Shekar of Karnataka and Aneeksha Gavinolla of Telangana emerged champions in the boys’ and girls’ singles, respectively, in the AITA National Series (Under-14) tennis tournament at the Sania Mirza Tennis Academy here on Saturday.
In the boys’ final, Thanush scored a hard-fought 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 victory over Shishanth Shivaraj of Tamil Nadu.
Aneeksha registered a 6-1, 3-6, 6-1 win over Trisha Bhosale of Maharashtra in the girls’ final.
Rian Atul Nandankar and Rajishnu Poptani of Gujarat won the boys’ doubles title, while Mrigakshee Changmai and Trisha Bhosale clinched the girls’ doubles title.
TPCC general secretary Mohammed Asaduddin gave away the prizes.
