The top Iranian diplomat made the remarks during a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on Thursday.
Emphasizing the unchanging approach of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran to expand relations with neighboring countries with the aim of securing the interests of the people of the region, Amir-Abdollhian stressed that the security of the countries of the region is linked with each other.
The joint and decisive fight against terrorist groups is the common responsibility of all the countries of the region, he said.
Referring to Tehran’s determination to boost relations with Turkey, the Iranian foreign minister expressed hope that the upcoming visit of Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi to Ankara would play an effective role in expanding relations and improving regional security.
Fidan, for his part, expressed his country’s readiness to host the Iranian president in the near future.
Referring to the recent developments, he called for maintaining and strengthening the brotherly relations between the countries of the region.
