Iran launches new drone attacks on US radar, air defense systems in Kuwait, Bahrain

Iran’s Army has carried out fresh drone strikes against US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain, targeting radar, communications, and air defense systems.

In a statement on Thursday, the Army said the strikes marked the 10th phase of retaliatory operations against US military targets in the region — codenamed Saeqeh (Lightning) – following the recent attacks by the United States on Iran.

A few hours ago, it added, the Army’s Arash drones struck radar systems, Patriot air defense batteries, and fuel depots at the “terrorist” US Army’s Ali Al Salem air base in Kuwait.

It noted that the Patriot system was tasked with defending the base as well as transport aircraft and advanced unmanned aerial vehicles, including MQ-9 drones.

In a separate wave of attacks, Iranian drones targeted communications and radar systems, including Super Hawk radars, along with Patriot facilities belonging to US forces at Shaikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.

According to the statement, the Bahraini base, which hosts support units for US aircraft, has sustained serious damage in previous “successful” drone and missile attacks by the Iranian Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

The statement emphasized that the enemy’s continued audacity, insolence, threats, and aggression would only strengthen Iran’s resolve and capability to defend itself.

The army added that its power is rooted in resilient people, combat readiness and courage of the high-ranking martyrs, particularly late the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

It reiterated its firm commitment to defending Iran’s national interests and righteousness in the face of the enemy.

On Wednesday, Iran’s Armed Forces announced new rounds of retaliatory operations against US military targets in the region featuring missile and drone strikes against facilities in Kuwait and Jordan following overnight US attacks on the Iranian coastline and southern cities.

The operations were accompanied by a warning from the IRGC that, for now, Iran’s reprisal remains focused on US offensive infrastructure in the region, but additional phases will follow.
