Yemen reaffirms support for Iran, says US-Israeli aggression will fail

A view of Yemen’s Foreign Ministry.

Yemen’s Foreign Ministry has reaffirmed the country’s support for Iran in the face of ongoing US-Israeli aggression, saying the Iranian nation will remain “unbreakable” despite continued attacks.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the ministry of Yemen’s Sana’a-based government said the continuation of US-Zionist aggression against Iran will fail to achieve its objectives.

The ministry reiterated Yemen’s support for the Iranian government and people, stressing that Sana’a stands by the Islamic Republic in confronting the “brutal US and Israeli aggression.”

It also affirmed Iran’s legitimate right to self-defense, warning that continued military aggression against Iran would ultimately harm both the aggressors and the global economy.

The statement further said Yemen remains committed to the “unity of fronts” equation and is in continuous coordination with Iran regarding regional developments, adding that Sana’a has “options” it would employ if necessary.

The statement came amid continued regional tensions following renewed US military attacks on Iran.

Earlier on Sunday, Iran’s Armed Forces launched coordinated missile and drone strikes against US military facilities in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman in response to continued American assaults on southern Iran,

They warned that any further attacks by the United States and Israel would be met with a stronger response.

Earlier, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz “until further notice” over the unauthorized use of the strategic waterway by a container ship.

IRGC added that the strait would remain closed until Washington and its allies end their intervention in the region.
