Hyderabad: Protesting against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s remarks about spilling blood of BRS leaders to cultivate crops in Telangana, the BRS student wing (BRSV) and youth wing (BRSY) will organise a blood donation camp at Telangana Bhavan on Monday.

Revanth Reddy made the remarks in response to the Opposition’s demand for lifting water from Godavari River water using the Kaleshwaram project to store and supply irrigation and drinking water.

In a sharp reaction to his remarks, BRSV State president Gellu Srinivas Yadav announced that the blood donation camp will be organised under the banner of “Blood Donation for Revanth Reddy’s Blood Thirst,” beginning at 11 AM. He urged party activists to participate in large numbers.

“The programme is being organised in response to the Chief Minister’s remarks that crops would flourish only if the blood of BRS leaders was sprinkled. We are ready to donate even our blood for the sake of Telangana’s farmers and to secure irrigation water for them,” Srinivas said, stating that the Congress government was acting against constitutional and democratic values of the country.
