Hyderabad: Shaik Md Irfan and T. Vikyaath won the Open and the junior category titles respectively in the 242nd Brilliant Trophy chess tournament at Brilliant Grammar School (Dilsukhnagar) here on Sunday.
In the juniors section, Vikyaath of Birla Open Minds International School (Mansoorabad) won thetitle with six points from six rounds while Chetan Maale and Sathya Karthikeya finished second and third respectively with five points each.
In the Open category, Irfan clinched honours with 5.5 points from six points while A. Aashish Reddy and Himesh Empalli finished second and third respectively with five points each from six rounds.
