Shabad Killings: KTR targets Revanth Government over law and order

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Saturday blamed the State government, particularly the Home Department, for the gruesome killing of six people by a POCSO accused at Shabad in Rangareddy district.

Condemning the incident, Rama Rao said the crime took place barely 30 km from Hyderabad. He alleged that the accused was granted bail despite the victim’s family warning the authorities about threats from him. The accused later went on to kill six members of the family, he said.

Speaking to mediapersons, Rama Rao said the State government must take responsibility if accused persons released on bail committed such crimes.

He alleged that the Public Prosecutor failed to argue the case effectively and accused the State government, particularly the Home Minister, of failing to protect the victim’s family.

Responding to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s remarks describing him as a “financial terrorist,” Rama Rao said a financial terrorist was someone caught with Rs 50 lakh in unaccounted cash and accused of conspiring to topple an elected government.

“Today, Revanth Reddy is the Chief Minister, but he should refrain from making cheap comments,” Rama Rao said.
