The head of the World Union of Resistance Scholars has lauded the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, for his lifelong commitment to the Axis of Resistance, describing his support as central to the Palestinians’ resilience in the face of Israeli aggression.
“There is no doubt that the Palestinian issue was of great concern to the martyred Leader, and his support for the resistance front played a significant role in supporting the Palestinian nation’s resilience. Without such support, Palestinians’ heroic and fierce steadfastness would have neither been formed in Gaza nor in the occupied West Bank,” Sheikh Maher Hammoud said on Wednesday.
He described Ayatollah Khamenei as an inspiring leader who placed Palestine in its true position, namely in belief, political insight, as well as civilizational understanding of Islam and the Muslim world.
“Just as the founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini (peace be upon him), characterized Israel as a “cancerous tumor,” the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution underscored that the resistance front is based on the principle that Israel is a usurper entity that must be eliminated. This position stems from a correct understanding of Qur’anic teachings and fundamentals of Islam.”
The late Ayatollah Khamenei, he said, had placed Palestine at the top of his priorities, and pursued many initiatives and actions which remain underreported.
The head of the World Union of Muslim Scholars said the martyred Leader long used to underline the integrity of political forces against the United States and Israel.
Ayatollah Khamenei cautioned that plots by Washington and the Tel Aviv regime were principally aimed at plundering the national wealth of Muslim nations and stripping them of their decision-making power, Sheikh Hammoud said.
“The motto of Muslim unity is divided into two sections: The first part constitutes call for the rapprochement of jurisprudential schools, and efforts to surmount the obstacles that have created division among the schools. The second section comprises attempts to unite Muslims around issues on which they have no disagreement, and which the Holy Qur’an and the Prophet Muhammad emphasize.”
Sheikh Hammoud pointed to the support of Ayatollah Khamenei for the Axis of Resistance and jihad against enemies, stating that the martyred Leader reiterated that any nation that abandoned jihad would be a humiliated one.
The United States and Israel assassinated Ayatollah Khamenei during a coordinated attack on Tehran at the beginning of the 40-day war of aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran on February 28.
His assassination triggered widespread condemnation from Iran and its allies, while millions of Iranians and supporters of the Axis of Resistance throughout the region mourned his martyrdom.
