Sangareddy police arrest burglar linked to over 100 theft cases

Sangareddy police arrested a habitual offender allegedly involved in over 100 burglary cases across the State. Gold, silver ornaments and cash were recovered from the accused, who had earlier been booked in multiple cases and was sent to judicial remand.

Sangareddy police arrest burglar linked to over 100 theft cases

Sangareddy: Sangareddy police nabbed a seasoned thief reportedly involved in over 100 burglaries across the State. Following a series of theft cases reported under the Gummadidala police station limits, the police launched a hunt and nabbed the accused, Kotapally Chandri alias Shekhar (31), from Mahabubnagar.

The police seized 22.5 tulas of gold ornaments, 60 tulas of silver ornaments and Rs 25,000 in cash from him. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Superintendent of Police Paritosh Pankaj said that a POCSO case had been registered against the accused under the Medchal police station limits and that 26 cases had been registered against him. Shekhar, who spent 14 months in jail, walked out on bail in October 2025 and allegedly resumed his criminal activities. The SP appreciated the CCS and Gummadidala police teams for cracking the case. He was sent to judicial remand.
