An Adilabad court sentenced a man to seven years of rigorous imprisonment for murdering his wife by slitting her throat in 2021 over an alleged demand for additional dowry. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the convict.

Man gets 7 years RI for murdering wife in Adilabad

Adilabad: A court here on Tuesday sentenced a man to seven years of rigorous imprisonment for murdering his wife by slitting her throat five years ago.

Senior Civil Judge and Assistant Sessions Judge CM Rajyalaxmi pronounced the verdict, sentencing Kannade Thukaram, a native of Yavatmal district and a resident of Dhanora, to seven years of rigorous imprisonment and imposing a fine of Rs 10,000 for killing his wife Radha over an alleged demand for additional dowry on February 2, 2021. Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s sister, the then SI Nagnath registered a case against Thukaram. He later filed the charge sheet before the court, establishing the involvement of the accused.
