Woman alleges rape by colleague, complaint lodged with Banjara Hills police

A woman working at a private office in Hyderabad has lodged a complaint with Banjara Hills police alleging rape by her colleague on two occasions. Police have registered a case and begun investigation, though no arrests have been made yet.

Woman alleges rape by colleague, complaint lodged with Banjara Hills police

Hyderabad: A woman approached the Banjara Hills police alleging she was raped by her colleague on two occasions.

According to the complaint, the woman, who works at a private office and lives in Film Nagar, had recently invited two colleagues, identified as Abhinay and Vamsi, to her apartment to celebrate her birthday on February 19. After the celebration, the three reportedly consumed alcohol. As the two men lived far away, they decided to stay overnight at her residence.


The woman alleged that while she was asleep that night, Abhinay sexually assaulted her. She further claimed that he raped her again on June 21.

She also stated that on June 23, Abhinay and Vamsi returned to her apartment and repeatedly knocked on the door, causing her distress.

Based on the woman’s complaint, the Banjara Hills police have registered a case and launched an investigation. No arrests have been announced so far.
