Khammam: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has been resorting to blackmail politics targetting those who are fighting for their rights, alleged former Minister T Harish Rao.
Revanth Reddy blackmailed government employees and retirees who staged protests for their pension arrears. He blackmailed SBI officials who questioned the government why their land was sold off and did the same with L&T until the company abandoned the Metro Rail project.
The Chief Minister has been blackmailing journalists and social media activists; trying to intimidate voices that speak out against the government’s failures. When the representatives of private colleges staged a protest for fees reimbursement dues they were summoned
and blackmailed.
The same thing happened with the Arogyasri scheme. After Revanth Reddy came to power, hospitals stopped providing services. When the hospitals staged a protest, Revanth Reddy threatened them as well, Harish Rao noted.
At a programme here on Tuesday Harish Rao along with former Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar interacted with the families losing their house plots in survey number: 218 of Raghunathapalem mandal in the district for a national highway and for an integrated school.
The Congress leaders claim their rule as ‘Indiramma’s rule’, which according to the party leaders provides houses and house sites to the poor, on the contrary, the Congress government demolishes the houses of the poor.
The government some time back razed hundreds of houses at
Velugumatla; losing its reputation across the State but has not learned its lesson. It started the same in Raghunathapalem by acquiring some of the plots for development works.
The government was now planning to snatch away the remaining plots as well, Harish Rao complained while assuring the residents losing their house sites that the BRS party would support them and fight for their cause. He also spoke to the district Collector over phone regarding the issue.
