Adilabad: He cannot stand. He cannot even sit on a chair. His mobility is severely restricted. He is confined to a simple wooden plank. His hands too do not function fully. He could not clear Intermediate. Despite these daunting physical challenges and limited education, he is shining in digital marketing and empowering youngsters as well, inspiring many.

Meet Bembekar Venkataramana, a differently abled person from Adilabad town. He was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, a rare genetic disorder generally known as brittle bone disease. He leads a static life, confining himself to a flat wooden plank throughout the day. He is assisted by his family members for various personal needs.

However, this 26-year-old man managed to master the world of digital marketing with the help of his mobile phone in 2024. He secured a placement with a firm and rose to the position of team leader. He is now earning Rs 6 lakh per annum. He proved that limitations of the body cannot deter the brilliance of the mind through sheer perseverance and an unyielding spirit.

The elder son of teacher couple Santosh Kumar and Surekha, Venkataramana learned the nuances of digital marketing by undergoing training for eight months. He then successfully completed a three-month-long internship before bagging a job at a Hyderabad-based firm established by his trainer. He was later elevated to team leader considering his outstanding performance. All this happened in less than three years.

“Venkataramana managed to learn the basics of education through his grandmother and pass Class X through the open school mode by attending classes at schools where his mother discharged her duties. He failed in Intermediate due to health problems. However, he chose digital marketing as it suited his condition and considering his familiarity with the internet and mobile phone, which he could use while lying on the wooden plank,” Santosh said with pride.

Significantly, Venkataramana is occasionally guiding aspirants in digital marketing through video-conferencing platforms. He is mentoring hundreds of enthusiasts and helping them secure jobs in this field. He has become a role model for youngsters in this region for excelling in the field. He is winning laurels from many for going the extra mile despite his immobility.

This digital marketing expert was recently felicitated by Panchayat Raj Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao, Collector Rajarshi Shah and SP Akhil Mahajan for proving that physical disability is not a barrier to excelling in a field. Krishna Rao said he would salute Venkataramana’s resilience in the face of adversity. Rajarshi Shah and Akhil Mahajan praised his unwavering determination to master digital marketing.
