Hyderabad: The Balanagar police arrested four persons and seized four kilograms of ganja, mobile phones, and two motorcycles from their possession at Narasapur Cross Roads.
The arrested persons were identified as Jinka Anji (24), a labourer at a manufacturing unit in Balanagar and a resident of Medak district; Samagati Lokesh (19), a second-year BBS student of St. Mary’s Degree College, Secunderabad, and a resident of Tupran in Medak district; Mariyala Akshay Kumar (19), also a second-year BBS student of St. Mary’s Degree College, Secunderabad, and a resident of Tupran; and Imansh Singh alias Immanuel alias Sonu (27), an Amazon logistics worker residing in Madhapur and a native of Uttar Pradesh.
According to the police, the accused were apprehended during a vehicle-checking operation at Narasapur Cross Roads on Wednesday. The contraband was allegedly sourced through Karthik Rio, a resident of Parlakhemundi in Odisha, who is absconding.
A case has been registered against the accused under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway.
