Heatwave conditions continued across Telangana on Wednesday, with temperatures touching 44 degrees Celsius in several districts. The IMD has warned that heatwave conditions may persist till June 20 and has also forecast thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds across the State.

Hyderabad: Heatwave conditions continued to influence weather across Telangana, with maximum temperatures on Wednesday in several parts of northern and eastern districts ranging between 41 degrees Celsius and 44 degrees Celsius.
Several parts of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Sangareddy and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri recorded maximum temperatures between 39 degrees Celsius and 42 degrees Celsius, according to data from the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TGDPS).
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, in its five-day forecast indicated that heatwave conditions would continue to prevail in parts of Telangana till June 20.
A heatwave warning was issued for Adilabad, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam districts.
The maximum temperatures on Wednesday ranged between 43 degrees Celsius and 44 degrees Celsius in Suryapet, Khammam, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nalgonda, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Hanumakonda, Peddapalli and Nizamabad, TGDPS data indicated.
Jagtial, Warangal, Nirmal, Kamareddy and Siddipet witnessed temperatures ranging between 42 degrees Celsius and 43 degrees Celsius.
A few areas in Hyderabad witnessed the highest temperatures ranging between 40 degrees Celsius and 41 degrees Celsius, while maximum temperatures in the remaining areas stayed below 40 degrees Celsius.
The IMD, Hyderabad, has also forecast thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds in almost all districts till June 22.
