The 2024 auction was full of surprises as Jharkhands’s young batter Kumar Kushagra was snapped up by Capitals for Rs 7.20 crore. CSK were quick to open the bid for Kushagra, who has a base price of 20 lakh, but Capitals eventually bought him for Rs 7.2 crore. DC also roped in Australia pacer Jhye Richardson for Rs 5 crore and England batter Harry Brook for Rs 4 crore. Brook had a below par IPL 2023 with the bat after being bought buy SRH for a whopping sum of Rs 13.25 crore.
DC also made a bargain buy with the acquisition of West Indies wicketkeeper-batter Shai Hope at his base price of Rs 75 lakh.
