Hyderabad: During inspections on Wednesday, Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) detected multiple violations at skin and hair clinics located in Kondapur.

At Neoskin Clinic, the TGMC found that skin and hair-related treatments were being provided without the presence of a qualified dermatologist and without requisite permissions from competent authorities.

At ORA Aesthetics, the Council observed that aesthetic procedures relating to skin and hair were being performed by dental practitioners, raising concerns regarding the scope of practice and compliance with applicable regulations.

The inspecting teams also found that at Traya Hair Loss solutions, the hair fall-related treatment was being offered through online consultations without proper clinical registration and in the absence of qualified dermatologists.

The TGMC said appropriate proceedings would be initiated against the entities under Sections 34 and 54 of the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act, 2019. Registered medical practitioners found to be facilitating, promoting, or associating with such unethical and unauthorised practices may be subjected to disciplinary proceedings under the Medical Ethics Regulations, it said.

The Council urged the Hyderabad District Collector, and District Medical and Health Officer that to ensure establishments engaged in unauthorised medical activities be sealed and appropriate legal action be initiated.

The inspecting teams of TGMC included Dr. A. Sunny Davis, Chairman, Legal and Antiquackery Committee, Dr. Vishnu Kadali, Executive Committee Member, along co-opted member Dr. Sivaranjani Santosh and witnesses.
