Hyderabad: The Bandlaguda police arrested two persons for allegedly possessing and selling ganja and seized 220 grams of the contraband during a raid conducted near Crystal Town Colony in Bandlaguda near Jalpally.
According to police, on specific information about the sale and consumption of ganja at Crystal Town Colony, a police team led by a sub-inspector of Bandlaguda police station conducted a raid on Sunday and caught seven persons.
The police apprehended two accused, identified as Sidharth Satish (22), a bouncer, and Ismail Khan (22), a health counselor cum personal assistant to a doctor. The duo was allegedly found in possession of a bag containing ganja. The ganja was sourced by Satish from Kodaikanal.
During questioning, the suspects reportedly confessed to procuring, consuming and selling ganja. The police identified the consumers as Attaullah Khan, Mohammed Shahid, Valagetti Rajesh, Ateeq Pasha and Shoaib Khan.
Based on the details revealed by them, the police recovered an additional quantity of the narcotic substance concealed in a white polythene bag. The total seized contraband weighed 220 grams.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. Further investigation is being carried out.
