Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao condoled the demise of acclaimed filmmaker and actor Bharathiraja, describing him as one of Indian cinema’s greatest storytellers. He extended his condolences to the bereaved family, members of the film fraternity and also his fans.
In a condolence message in Tamil on Tuesday, Rama Rao said the passing of the legendary filmmaker, fondly called “Iyakkunar Imayam” (Director Extraordinaire), was deeply distressing. He stated that Bharathiraja charted a new course for Indian cinema and his contributions to cinema would continue to inspire and be celebrated by generations of filmmakers and audiences alike.
“With the passing of acclaimed filmmaker and actor Bharathiraja, Indian cinema has lost one of its greatest storytellers,” he said, praying for his soul to rest in peace.
