At 5:00 a.m. Moscow time (2:00 a.m. GMT) today, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to conduct an attack on facilities on Russian soil with the use of a Tochka-U missile was thwarted,” TASS reported citing the Russian Defense Ministry statement.
“The Ukrainian missile was destroyed by air defense forces on duty over the Belgorod Region,” it added.
Russian officials have blamed Kyiv of plotting acts of sabotage targeting the country’s major infrastructure sites, including nuclear power plants. The Russian border regions of Kursk, Bryansk, and Belgorod, as well as Crimea have been frequently subjected to Ukrainian drone attacks.
