Cyberabad police moots tech‑driven student transport safety plan

Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police Commissioner M Ramesh on Saturday held discussions with private transport operators and government officials on the implementation of a technology-driven Student Mobility Programme aimed at ensuring safer transportation for students.

The proposed initiative will introduce GPS tracking, CCTV surveillance and real-time monitoring of student transport vehicles through a dedicated mobile application and command-and-control system.

Parents will be able to access key information, including vehicle location, driver details, fitness status and passenger capacity.
Officials said the programme seeks to improve student safety, reduce traffic congestion and strengthen regulatory compliance.

If successful in Cyberabad, the project may be proposed for implementation across the State.
