Rains lashed several parts of Hyderabad and districts across Telangana on Saturday, bringing relief from intense summer conditions. The showers, seen as a sign of the monsoon’s arrival, cooled temperatures and provided much-needed respite to residents across the region.

Hyderabad: Offering a reprieve from the sweltering summer conditions, rains lashed several parts of Hyderabad on Saturday afternoon. Several districts across Telangana also received rains of varying intensity on the day.
Heralding the arrival of the monsoon, the rains brought cheer to the denizens who have been subjected to harsh summer conditions this season. Though the mercury has hovered between 37 degrees Celsius and 40 degrees Celsius in the last few days, the summer heat has been intense, forcing many to stay indoors during the afternoon hours.
The weekend also commenced on a harsh note, with the sun blazing since morning. However, by noon, the weather conditions started to ease and later paved the way for the showers. Some parts of the city also received heavy rain in the afternoon.
From the city core areas of Somajiguda, Koti, Banjara Hills and Madhapur to the outer areas of Rajendranagar, Serilingampally and Nizampet, the rains were widespread for more than an hour.
