Three children, all residents of Vaddera Colony in Limbadrigutta village, drowned while swimming in a local tank on Friday.

Nizamabad: Three children drowned in a village tank at Limbadrigutta in Bhimgal mandal on Friday. The deceased were identified as Harish (11), Arvind (10) and Varshini (6), all residents of Vaddera Colony in the village.

According to reports, the children had gone to the tank to swim. After entering the water, they were unable to stay afloat and began to drown. In an attempt to save one another, all three children drowned.


The parents became suspicious when the children did not return home for a long time. They searched the colony and later noticed the children’s clothes and footwear on the tank bund. Local residents immediately entered the tank and found the bodies. After police reached the spot, the bodies were retrieved and shifted to a hospital for post-mortem examination.

A case has been registered and an investigation is underway, according to reports.
