Rs 1,474‑crore infra works in MMC to begin shortly

Hyderabad: Works for the six-lane bi-directional flyover crossing TKR college junction, Gayatri Nagar junction and Manda Mallamma junction within Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) limits will commence soon, with the civic body spending Rs 416 crore, officials said.

The MMC has allocated Rs 326.54 crore for the flyover and Rs 89.46 crore for land acquisition. The flyover is aimed at easing traffic problems.

On Thursday, MMC officials released details of three major works and their cost to the media, and said the foundation stone for these works will be laid soon.

The MMC is spending Rs 960 crore for the construction of two alternate roads around AoC Centre in Secunderabad Cantonment. Of the Rs 960 crore, Rs 490 crore will be spent on alternate roads and the remaining Rs 470 crore for land acquisition.

An amount of Rs 98 crore will be spent on the construction of a permanent office building for MMC at Uppal Bhagayath Layout phase-III.
