Hyderabad: Engineering graduate drowns in water-filled pit in Medchal

A 22-year-old engineering graduate, Kavali Upender, drowned after allegedly slipping into a deep water-filled pit in Medchal while bathing with friends on Tuesday evening. Police recovered the body, shifted it for autopsy, and registered a case for further investigation.

Hyderabad: A 22-year-old engineering graduate drowned allegedly while bathing in a deep water pit in Medchal on Tuesday late evening.
According to Medchal police, the youth was identified as Kavali Upender, a resident of Pudur village. He had gone to a nearby water filled pit along with his friends for a bath when he accidentally slipped into deep waters and drowned.

On receiving information, the police reached the spot and launched rescue efforts. The body was later recovered and shifted to a government hospital for autopsy.


Police said Upender had recently completed his B.Tech from a private engineering college.

A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
