Hyderabad Police arrested a notorious chain snatcher allegedly involved in 180 cases and evading 14 non-bailable warrants. The accused, who had fled to Bengaluru and Rayachoti, was apprehended by the Special Crime Team following specific intelligence and is being produced in court.

Hyderabad: A notorious chain snatcher involved in 180 chain snatching cases and evading court proceedings was apprehended by the Special Crime Team of the Detective Department of the Hyderabad police on Tuesday.
The man, Mohammed Faisal Shah Ali Jabri alias Abdullah alias Sohail (43), a resident of Asifnagar, was involved in several chain snatching cases in the city since 2023. “Fourteen non-bailable warrants were issued by different courts as he failed to appear in court. The NBWs were pending against him in different police stations in the city,” said S Chaitanya Kumar, DCP, Detective Department.
After the police started efforts to track and apprehend him, Faisal escaped to Bengaluru and then to Rayachoti and was committing chain snatching there.
However, on specific information, the Special Crime Team caught him on Tuesday. He is being produced before the court for legal action.
