SPF urges JNTU-Hyderabad to extend grace marks to R22 students

Hyderabad: The Students Protection Forum (SPF) representatives on Monday urged the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) – Hyderabad administration to extend the provision of grace marks for students studying under the R22 regulations.

In a representation submitted to JNTU-Hyderabad Registrar Prof K Venkateswara Rao, the SPF said the grace marks facility was already being implemented for students under the R18, R21, and R23 regulations. However, students under the R22 regulations do not have such a benefit, causing difficulties for thousands of students.

The SPF requested that students pursuing courses such as B.Tech, B.Pharmacy, BBA, M.Tech, M.Pharmacy, MBA, MCA, M.Sc., and other programmes under the R22 regulations also be provided with the benefit of grace marks.

SPF founder J Dilip said providing grace marks to R22 regulations’ students is a fair and justified decision. “We hope that the university authorities will consider the interests of students and make a positive decision soon.”

SPF president Rahul Naik said the forum would continue to follow up on this issue until the problems faced by R22 students were resolved. Since this matter concerns the future of thousands of students, we believe the university will take a student-friendly decision.”

The Registrar, according to SPF, responded positively to the request and assured that the matter would be discussed with the university’s senior officials and a decision would be taken within the next few days.
