Jagadgirigutta residents raise civic issues during CMC Commissioner’s visit

Residents of Jagadgirigutta raised civic issues including sanitation, drainage, roads and streetlights during Cyberabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner G. Srijana’s visit under the ‘One Ward–Every Day’ programme. The commissioner assured that the grievances would be addressed on priority.

Jagadgirigutta residents raise civic issues during CMC Commissioner’s visit

Hyderabad: Residents of Jagadgirigutta have urged the commissioner of Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), G Srijana, to provide improved sanitation facilities, better roads and an effective drainage system in their areas.

On Monday, commissioner visited Jagadgirigutta area as part of the ‘One Ward-Every Day’ programme, along with the civic body officials concerned.


During the interaction with the residents, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) and community representatives, they raised some basic civic issues related to sanitation, roads, drainage, parks, public amenities and community infrastructure.

The residents sought strengthening of mosquito control measures in HMT Colony and requested action against unauthorised garbage dumping along Pipeline Road. They also raised concerns about improving garbage collection practices, waste disposal and clearance of accumulated garbage on temple premises.

Residents made a plea to MMC chief regarding laying and improvement of internal roads in Vambay Colony, Rajiv Gruhakalpa, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Somaiah Nagar and Jagadgirigutta. They also demanded construction of a footpath at Beerappa Nagar, construction of a box culvert in Jagadgirigutta and development of improved road connectivity near Pipeline Road.

In Somaiah Nagar, Rajiv Gruhakalpa and Jagadgirigutta areas, residents urged augmentation of drinking water infrastructure, and improvement of the drainage system. RGK Colony residents raised a park near Venkateshwara Swamy Temple, and set up open gym facilities. Residents raised non-functional streetlights in Vambay Colony, Rajiv Gruhakalpa, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar and Jagadgirigutta.

Commissioner, who listed out the civic issues, assured to resolve them on priority.
