Kaveri University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr V Praveen Rao received two national awards for his contributions to agriculture, horticulture and higher education during a national conference in Karnal. The university also received the CHAI Institutional Fellow recognition for academic and institutional excellence.

Siddipet: Vice-Chancellor of Kaveri University Prof Dr V Praveen Rao has been conferred with two national awards in recognition of his outstanding contributions to agriculture, horticulture, higher education and institutional development. In addition, Kaveri University was honoured with the CHAI Institutional Fellow recognition.
The honours, the CHAI (Confederation of Horticulture Associations of India) Honorary Fellow Award 2026 and the “Amit Krishi Rishi Award 2026”, were presented by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini during the 18th Swadesh Prem Jagriti Sangosthi, a national conference themed “Strategic Paradigm of Quality Seed and Planting Material for Horticultural Crops in Amrit Kaal”.
The four-day conference, being held from May 28 to 31, 2026, is organised at Maharana Pratap Horticultural University (MPHU), Karnal, and has brought together leading scientists, policymakers, academicians and industry experts from across the country.
Prof Praveen Rao was specially recognised for his visionary leadership in agricultural transformation, horticultural innovation, research advancement and strengthening academic institutions aligned with national development goals.
Kaveri University Chancellor G Bhaskar Rao congratulated the Vice-Chancellor, describing the recognition as a matter of immense pride for the university and the broader agricultural and academic community. Prof Praveen Rao dedicated the honours to the collective efforts of the Kaveri University fraternity and reaffirmed his commitment to excellence in education, research, innovation and societal development.
