Severe heat wave conditions continued across the erstwhile Adilabad district for the fourth consecutive day, with temperatures crossing 46 degrees C in several mandals. At least 10 people reportedly died of sunstroke in Adilabad, Mancherial, Nirmal and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts

Relentless heat wave continues to sweep erstwhile Adilabad

Adilabad: Relentless heat wave conditions continued to sweep across the erstwhile Adilabad district for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday.

According to the weather report on the website of the Telangana Development Planning Society, Kunchavelli village in Dahegaon mandal recorded the highest daytime temperature of 46.5 degrees C, while Velganoor in Dandepalli mandal recorded a maximum temperature of 46.4 degrees C. Kuntala mandal headquarters witnessed a daytime temperature of 45.9 degrees C, while Bhoraj mandal centre registered 44.7 degrees C.


Due to the scorching heat wave conditions, people did not venture outdoors between 9 am and 3 pm. Roads in district centres and mandal headquarters wore a deserted look. People relied on fruit juices, coconut water, buttermilk and other liquids to beat the heat. At least 10 persons died of sunstroke in different parts of Adilabad, Mancherial, Nirmal and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts over the past two days.
