The voting for 199 of the 200 Assembly seats in Rajasthan was held on November 25, with roughly 75.45 per cent of the eligible voters exercising their franchise. The voting in Karanpur constituency couldn’t take place after Gurmeet Koonar, the Congress candidate and sitting MLA, died at Delhi’s AIIMS. The election results will be declared on Sunday, December 3. While the incumbent Congress under Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is vying for a second term, the BJP is looking forward to toppling the grand old party in a state, which has consistently voted out the incumbent in the last 25 years.
