For third straight day, Telangana swelters as temperatures breach 46°C

Telangana is reeling under a severe heatwave, with temperatures soaring above 46 degrees Celsius in northern districts like Sirpur (Kumram Bheem Asifabad) and touching 44.9 degrees Celsius in parts of Hyderabad. This marks the third consecutive day of dangerously high temperatures across the state.

Hyderabad:  Maximum temperatures across Telangana during the ongoing spell of severe heatwave have continued to remain dangerously high for the third continuous day, with multiple regions in districts recording 46.5 degrees Celsius and areas in core Hyderabad recording 43.4 degrees Celsius on Friday, the day-long temperature data from TGDPS, indicated.

The northern and eastern districts of Telangana were the worst hit, with Sirpur (Kumram Bheem Asifabad) recording the highest of 46.5 degrees Celsius between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm on Friday.


In the core Hyderabad region, Karwan area witnessed a maximum of 43.4 degrees Celsius on Friday while under Greater Hyderabad region, Nizampet in Sangareddy district witnessed 44.9 degrees Celsius.
