BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus professor Pradyumn Kumar Sahoo has been selected as a Visiting Scientist under the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ President’s International Fellowship Initiative for 2027. His research collaboration will focus on modified gravity and cosmology at the Institute of Theoretical Physics

Hyderabad: Pradyumn Kumar Sahoo from the Department of Mathematics at Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani Hyderabad Campus has been selected as a Visiting Scientist for the year 2027 under the President’s International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
As part of this distinguished international research grant, Prof Sahoo will collaborate with Shao-Jiang Wang at the Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The high-level collaboration will primarily focus on advanced joint research in the fields of modified gravity and cosmology.
Hailing from Kuahara village in the Nayagarh district of Odisha, Prof Sahoo is an alumnus of Gadadhar Academy Manikagoda (1992 matriculation batch). Over the years, his extensive research in theoretical physics has contributed significantly to contemporary cosmological models.
According to an official statement issued by BITS Pilani, this international recognition reflects the institute’s growing global footprint in academic research.
