A woman and her daughter were allegedly strangled to death by unidentified assailants in a sweet lime orchard in Nalgonda district on Sunday. Police suspect a land dispute to be the motive behind the murders and have launched an investigation into the case.

Nalgonda: A mother and her daughter were brutally murdered by unidentified persons in a sweet lime orchard at Ibrahimpet village in the district on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as Rudraksha Sumalatha (40) and Rudraksha Lavanya (20). Land disputes are learnt to have been the reasons behind the murder.
According to reports, Sumalatha and her close relatives were involved in a land dispute. On Sunday morning, the mother and daughter had arrived at the sweet lime orchard to harvest the fruits. Suddenly, unidentified persons attacked the duo and threw chilli powder into their eyes. Later, the offenders strangled the mother and daughter to death with dupatta, reports said.
After the locals alerted the police about the incident, they arrived at the spot and investigated the case.
