Seven flyovers and underpasses planned around KBR Park by 2028

Hyderabad: The road stretch around KBR National Park in the heart of the city is set to get seven steel flyovers and seven underpasses by December 2028 to ease traffic congestion and create signal-free junctions at seven key locations.

The proposed infrastructure works are currently underway at seven locations, with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) executing them in two phases under the Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) project.

The first phase of works has commenced and involves multi-level grade separators, including seven steel flyovers, seven underpasses and road widening around KBR Park. The total cost of the phase I and II infrastructure works is estimated to be around Rs 1,090 crore, with the completion timeline estimated at 18 months to two years.

The previous BRS government had initially proposed flyovers and underpasses near KBR Park under the ‘Strategic Road Development Project’ (SRDP). The Congress government later renamed it the Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H-CITI) project.

Jubilee Hills Check Post, KBR Park Entrance Junction, Jubilee Hills Road No. 45 Junction, Film Nagar Junction, Maharaja Agrasen Island Junction, Indo-American Cancer Hospital Junction and Mugdha Traffic Junction.

At Jubilee Hills Check Post Junction:

• KBR Park Entrance to Road No. 36: Four-lane bi-directional first-level flyover

• Yousufguda to Road No. 45: Two-lane uni-directional second-level flyover

KBR Entrance and Mugdha Junction:

• Punjagutta side to Jubilee Hills Check Post Junction: Three-lane uni-directional first-level flyover

Cancer Hospital Junction:

• Maharaja Agrasen Junction to Road No. 10: Two-lane uni-directional first-level flyover

Maharaja Agrasen Junction:

• Film Nagar Junction to Road No. 12: Two-lane uni-directional first-level flyover

Film Nagar Junction:

• Film Nagar to Maharaja Agrasen Junction: Two-lane uni-directional first-level flyover

Road No. 45 Junction:

• Jubilee Hills Check Post to Road No. 45/Durgam Cheruvu: Two-lane uni-directional first-level flyover

Seven underpasses:

Jubilee Hills Check Post Junction:

• Road No. 45 to KBR Park Entrance Junction and Yousufguda: Three-lane uni-directional underpass

KBR Entrance and Mugdha Junction:

• Jubilee Hills Check Post to Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital: Two-lane uni-directional underpass

• KBR Park Entrance to Mugdha Junction: Three-lane uni-directional underpass

Cancer Hospital Junction:

• KBR Park Entrance to Maharaja Agrasen Junction: Two-lane uni-directional underpass
