Telangana DGP reviews Bakrid security arrangements across State

Hyderabad: Ahead of the upcoming Bakrid festival, DGP CV Anand on Wednesday held a video conference with senior officials from the Police, Revenue, c departments to review security arrangements across Telangana.

During the meeting, the DGP directed field officers to maintain strict vigilance against illegal cattle transportation and smuggling during the festival period.


He said 52 inter-State check posts and 203 checkpoints within the State had been activated to monitor suspicious vehicle movement and enforce transport regulations.

The top cop also warned that strict action would be taken against violations of animal transport and slaughter laws.

Officials were instructed to intensify vehicle checks, monitor cattle fairs and prevent any attempts to disturb communal harmony, including through social media posts or public gatherings.
