Woman found murdered in Putnur village of Peddapalli district

A 28-year-old woman, Sumalatha, was found murdered in Putnur village of Peddapalli district. A census enumerator discovered her body in a pool of blood, prompting police investigation. Officials suspect the crime occurred on Tuesday night.

Peddapalli: A woman Bouthu Sumalatha (28) was killed by unknown persons in Putnur of Palakurthy mandal.

According to villagers, she was found in a pool of blood when a census enumerator went to her home on Wednesday.


Panicked over the incident, enumerator alerted the villagers who informed the matter to Basanthnagar police. Knowing about the incident, police led by Sub-Inspector Nuti Sridhar rushed to the spot. They suspected that she was killed on Tuesday night.

Sumalatha, who is working as a shepherd, was staying in the home along with her bedridden father, who is suffering from paralysis.

Police began investigation by registering the case. The body was shifted to hospital for postmortem.
