Hyderabad police have intensified efforts to trace the suspects involved in the murder of Tanuja Ranjan, wife of former IPS officer Vinay Ranjan Ray, at Jubilee Hills. Special teams have been sent to different States after the accused reportedly fled the city.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police have intensified their efforts to nab the killers of Tanuja Ranjan, wife of former IPS officer Vinay Ranjan Ray, who was allegedly murdered by her domestic help hailing from Nepal, at Jubilee Hills.
The domestic help, Kalpana, is suspected to have called her associates, who then gagged Tanuja Ranjan, leading to suffocation and her death. The gang then collected valuables from the house and escaped.
Following the incident, senior police officials, including DGP CV Anand, Additional DGP Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat and Hyderabad Commissioner VC Sajjanar, visited the spot. The Hyderabad police formed several teams to nab the suspects.
The police investigation revealed that after committing the crime, the gang collected the valuables and left the house around 2 am. They headed towards Secunderabad railway station and are suspected to have boarded a train and left the city.
Special teams of Hyderabad Police have been rushed to different States by plane and train as part of the probe. The police have also sent the photographs and fingerprints of the suspects to their counterparts in other States to check if the gang is involved in any crimes.
Tanuja Ranjan was on the first floor of the house while her children were asleep upstairs. Vinay Ranjan was away in Bengaluru on some work when the incident took place.
The incident occurred around 2 am on Friday and was reported to the police around 10 am.
