Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met on Tuesday with a number of foreign ministers from the Arab League and Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip in accordance with the decision taken at the recent Riyadh summit.
The meeting was attended by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri, Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Maliki, and Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hissein Brahim Taha.
Addressing the meeting with counterparts from seven Arab and Islamic countries in Moscow, the top Russian diplomat criticized Israel for resorting to collective punishment against the Palestinians after the Hamas assault on Occupied Palestinian lands on October 7.
Lavrov further stressed that the Israeli regime’s actions must not violate in international law.
