Karimnagar: Unseasonal rain along with strong winds damaged standing crops in different parts of the erstwhile Karimnagar district. While paddy stored at procurement centres was soaked in rainwater, mango orchards were damaged due to strong winds in several areas on Thursday evening.
Besides the paddy ready for shifting to rice mills, the crop ready for weighing was also soaked in rainwater in Gangadhara, Ramadugu and other mandals. Mango crop was also damaged in Peddapalli and Jagtial districts due to the recent unseasonal rains.
