Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed at Press Colony, in Saroornagar after the local leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party damaged the inauguration plaque over protocol issues on Thursday.
According to reports, a multi-purpose community hall was constructed at Press Colony in Saroornagar recently and it was supposed to be inaugurated on Thursday. The Press Colony falls under the Yakutpura assembly constituency represented by MLA Jaffer Hussain Meraj.
On Thursday, the local BJP leaders objected to their names not being mentioned on banners and the plaque. They reportedly damaged the plaque and the banner leading to tension in the area.
The police increased their presence in the locality and additional forces were rushed to the spot. The inauguration was postponed to a later date.
