The Telangana Pollution Control Board announced the State Best Environmental Performance Awards 2026 to recognise institutions and industries for achievements in pollution control and waste management. The awards will be presented on World Environment Day, with nominations open until May 15.

Hyderabad: The Telangana Pollution Control Board (TGPCB) on Thursday announced the State Best Environmental Performance Awards 2026, which will be presented on June 5 on the occasion of World Environment Day.
The awards honour the efforts of institutions and industries that demonstrated achievements in pollution control measures, elimination of single-use plastics, and solid and plastic waste management.
The awards will be presented in categories including Best Schools, Colleges, Urban Self-Help Groups, Rural Self-Help Groups, Gram Panchayats, Industries, Private Hospitals, Government Hospitals and Municipalities. In each category, first, second and third prizes will be distributed, the TG PCB said.
Selection of awardees in sectors or areas not directly monitored by the TG PCB will be carried out by the respective departments. The nominations should be submitted to the departments concerned on or before May 15.
