GHMC installs compost pits at Indira park in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Compost pits were set up at Indira Park and Kondareddy colony park in Kavadiguda and Mettugadda circles to promote sustainable waste management and environmental conservation.

During the activity, awareness was created on the importance of converting wet waste into organic compost for maintaining greenery and reducing waste burden while also emphasising the role of eco-friendly practices in strengthening urban sanitation and beautification efforts, according to a press release.


The initiative reflected the commitment of the GHMC towards Swachh and a sustainable urban management through community participation and effective waste utilisation practices, it said.
