Farmers suffer losses as moderate rains hit Mancherial district

Heavy rains lashed Mancherial and parts of Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts on Tuesday night, causing damage to farmers. Several mandals recorded rainfall ranging from 15 mm to over 45 mm, with Mancherial mandal receiving the highest.

Farmers suffer losses as moderate rains hit Mancherial district

Mancherial: Parts of the district saw moderate rains wreaking havoc to farmers on Tuesday night.

According to a weather report on the website of Telangana Development Planning Society, the average rainfall of the district was gauged to be 16.4 mm. While Mancherial mandal recorded the highest rainfall of 46.1 mm, Bheemaram mandal had 45.5 mm of rainfall. Luxettipet, Vemanapalli, Mandamarri, Chennur and Jaipur mandals witnessed over 20 mm of rainfall.


Meanwhile, Mahadevapur, Palimela and Malharrao mandals in Jayashankar Bhupalpally recorded above 30 mm of rainfall. Bhupalpalli and Mutharam mandals had 27.4 mm and 25 mm. Bejjur mandal registered 21.6 mm of rainfall. Dahegaon and Penchikalpet mandals saw 16.1 mm and 15.6 mm of rainfall respectively.
