Civil Supplies Commissioner M Stephen Raveendra inspected the Pedakaparthi procurement centre in Nalgonda, directing officials to expedite paddy unloading and transport.

Nalgonda: Civil Supplies Commissioner M Stephen Raveendra conducted a surprise inspection at Pedakaparthi procurement centre here on Tuesday and directed officials to speed up unloading, vehicle movement, and paddy transportation.
During the visit, he sought details of the quantity of paddy received so far, availability of hamalis, truck sheets, vehicles tagged to mills, tarpaulins, and other logistics with District Collector B Chandrashekhar and the centre officials.
Officials informed that 25,000 quintals of paddy had been received at the Pedakaparthi center till date. Of these,7,000 quintals had been procured, with tab entry completed. They added that around 15,000 metric tonnes of paddy was still available at the procurement center.
As it is a major centre, 10 to 20 additional lorries have been arranged, the Collector stated. He further explained that advance information was given to millers to avoid any shortage of hamalis.
Later, he visited Siddhartha Rice Industries at Vattimarthy, where he enquired about the number of hamalis and was informed that 35 workers were engaged.
