Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam led in 107 segments and was second in 55 during Tamil Nadu vote counting, nearing the majority mark of 118, while DMK and AIADMK trailed behind

Chennai: Actor-politician Vijay’s TVK was leading in 107 Assembly segments and was in the second place in 55 segments on Monday when the counting of votes polled in the April 23 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections proceeded across the state. According to Election Commission figures at 2.35 pm, amilaga Vettri Kazhagam was trailing by a margin of less than 1,000 votes in six constituencies.
The party’s candidate from Kumbakonam, Vinoth was trailing by just 86 while Karuppaiah MV from Sholavandan and Vijay Vadivel from Vikravandi were trailing behind their opponents by 100 and 102 votes, respectively. The magic figure to form the government in the southern state is 118. The ruling DMK was leading in 57 segments and AIADMK in 51.
