Demonstrators waved Palestinian flags during a protest in London on Wednesday (November 15) as British Members of Parliament held a vote on a ceasefire in Gaza.
Protesters outside the Palace of Westminster called on MPs to represent them in calling for a ceasefire in the Israeli war on Gaza.
Since Hamas’ operation on Oct. 7, there has been support and sympathy for Israel from Western governments, including Britain’s, and some citizens. But the Israeli military response has also prompted anger, with frequent protests in London demanding a ceasefire.
Israel has put Gaza’s entire population of 2.3 million under siege, battering the crowded strip with air strikes.
Gaza health officials, considered reliable by the United Nations, say about 11,500 Palestinians are now confirmed killed, around 40% of them children, and more are buried under the rubble. Israel has ordered the entire northern half of Gaza evacuated, and around two-thirds of residents are now homeless.
