Pro-Palestinian protesters have staged a demonstration outside the US Department of State headquarters in Washington, DC, condemning the United States’ support for the Israeli regime and its genocidal war machine which has killed more than 11,000 Palestinians in Gaza since early October.
Demonstrators on Friday censured the US foreign policy toward Palestine, calling for the resignation of State Department officials and an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. They said the State Department was complicit in Israel’s massacre of Palestinians.
Similar demonstrations have been held in the States over the past days and weeks in a public display of anger with US President Joe Biden’s indifference towards the death of woman and children in Gaza.
The Biden administration remains steadfast in its support for the regime.
On November 6, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said Gaza is becoming a “graveyard for children.”
Israel ignited the war machine on October 7 after it was caught off-guard by the surprise Operation Al-Aqsa Storm launched by Palestinian resistance groups led by Hamas and Islamic Jihad into the occupied territories in response to the regime’s intensified crimes against Palestinians.
According to the Gaza-based Health Ministry, Israel has killed more than 11,000 Palestinians, including over 4,500 children, ever since. Over 26,000 others have also been injured.
The Tel Aviv regime has also blocked access to water, food, and electricity in Gaza, plunging the territory into a humanitarian crisis.
